When mental health is more important…

We watch athletes and condemn them when they don’t perform for our viewing pleasure. Look at what happened to those young men on the UK football team.

We don’t consider the long hours and the mental and physical toil it takes on them.

Kudos to two young black women who have the courage to say enough, it isn’t about the money or the medal, it’s about my mental health fortitude!

A note for all of us who push and pressurize ourselves daily. I learned this the hard way when I experienced “burn out” at work one year.

From that point it meant setting boundaries that allows me to have personal time to refill my cup and having the fortitude to maintain to them.

Do we prioritize our mental health? Do we have the courage to say enough when we need a break?
