An incredible statement from the athlete who gave one of the most memorable performances at the Olympics this year!

Did you watch the video clip with Sifan Hassan (Netherlands) in the 1500 meter race?

She fell hard – HARD!
She then got back up, did the unexpected and stunned us all! She passed all her competitors who were ahead of her and won the heat. That was in the morning and that same evening she would run the 5000 meter race and take the gold medal!

This is one of the most incredible stories for me from the olympics.

It took some guts to do what Sifan did.  Make no mistake, that fall caused her a lot of pain but she had a goal and ended with a gold.
Gold medal that is!

Her statement in an interview, therefore, rings true. Even when we fall, we are all still capable of greatness. Just get up  (even if it means accepting help from others) and stay true to our goals. We truly are better than we think!
