About

Cherry tree Hill, Barbados. One of the most beautiful views of the East Coast in Barbados.

Some people call me AJ, others know me as AnniQ.

I am an author, speaker (toastmaster), marketing professional, world traveller.

I was in a taxi in Sao Paolo Brazil having a moment. The driver was chatting merrily away in Portuguese while I was responding in Spanish. There are similarities between the two languages and somehow I felt a connection. In that moment it hit me – I am not just a traveller, I am a global citizen. I love to explore, even what is in my own backyard. It makes me curious about people and their lives.

By profession, I have had the privilege to work in travel and tourism for over 15 years. As a hobby and side hustle I trained as an Image Consultant. To help me professionally, I joined the Grand Cayman Toastmasters Club, where I have 20 years training in public speaking, leadership, coaching and mentorship. In 2018, I had the wildest opportunity to represent the Caribbean District 81 in the Semi-finals of the World Championship of Public Speaking, making history as the first person from the Cayman Islands to win the Caribbean championship.

My family are creatives so I love writing and in 2019 published the first of my children stories based on Donna the Iguana.

I am a daughter, sister, sister-in-law, auntie, niece, cousin and friend whose life has been shaped by my family. Most of all I am a child of God! Living and loving life with a purpose.
