If you want it badly enough you would be amazed by what you can give up. This mind of ours is incredible and I’ve been appreciating that more.
A few years ago, I had a dress I needed to fit into for my Sister’s wedding but it meant dropping about 5 pounds. It’s funny the motivation to get us fit! Anyway, I went to my health and fitness gurus in my office. One is a quick diet expert …the other was more about macros and consistent diet. They did not agree on some things but they definitely agreed I would have to cut sugar.
Well, I went quiet because I am a sugar queen – from chocolate to a slice of cake. I would also drink 3 cups of tea a day with a healthy dollop of deliciousness called condensed milk. Tea with condensed milk was my soul food, comfort food, stress relieving, gas busting remedy for life. I love it so much that my team gave me tins of condensed milk for my birthday with tea bags. I also had some on my desk and some at home.
But my mind was a made up and the next few weeks I drank black tea. Yes, that’s right, I went cold turkey with no sugar in my tea! I thought it would be the worst episode but it was ok. What is even more amazing is that today I hardly drink so much tea. My 3 cups a day habit was reduced to one and I rarely use condensed milk. Granted, there are teas that are good for you, but reducing sugar helped drop the weight significantly along with eating right and exercising. I confess that there is still a love for the sugar, but now in moderation.

I agree totally with a reduction in the use and love of sugar. It is a sweet and likeable killer!
